The Money Centre Backs Rethink and Help the Hospices

6 July 2007: The Money Centre has chosen Help the Hospices and Rethink as their charities for the next 12 months and will be making regular donations following each of a series of fundraising events inspired by Money Centre staff. Last year the company supported Cystic Fibrosis.

The Money Centre is currently designing the fundraising campaigns and with two charities to support there is plenty of scope. Plans are already in hand for a quiz night, while other ideas include parachute jumps and white water rafting.

Help the Hospices is the national charity for the hospice movement, supporting the UK 's 220+ hospices which provide care for children and adults with terminal illnesses and offer support for their friends and family. The funds raised by The Money Centre will go directly to the hospice local to each business centre. Anne Seymour, corporate partnerships executive at Help the Hospices, says: “Hospice care is open to all and provided completely free of charge, which is why the support of companies like The Money Centre is so important and appreciated. Without help to raise the much-needed funds for the hospice movement, this care simply wouldn't be possible.”

Rethink, the leading national mental health membership charity, works to help everyone affected by severe mental illness recover a better quality of life.  Paul Jenkins, its chief executive, is delighted to be backed by The Money Centre:  “We are honoured to have been chosen by staff as one of their preferred charities and look forward to working together over the next 12 months. On behalf of the people with mental health problems that we represent, I'd like to thank The Money Centre's employees for their generosity and support.”

Lynsey Sweales, marketing and PR director of The Money Centre, comments: “We chose Help the Hospices because of the vital support hospices give to those affected by a terminal illness. Rethink is our second chosen charity because we strongly believe people with mental health problems should have the same rights as everyone else, which the charity actively campaigns for. The charities are close to the hearts of a few employees across the country and we hope that by supporting these we can help create awareness as well as provide financial support.”

Should you wish to make your contribution, with donations, ideas for fundraisers or simply share your personal experiences with these charities please contact Amanda Bunn at The Money Centre on 01603 428577 or abunn@themoneycentre.net. We would love to hear from you.
